To ombre or not to ombre.

I get bored with my hair a lot.
I try and spice things up? Make some bows, some heaband, get a brazillian blowout..
anything to spark my interest, but I'm getting bored again.

I'm thinking about doing some ombre?

I think it's pretty cute.
but also I have shortish hair.
and also I'm worried that by the time I fully commit...it'll be outdated?

I guess I'm asking for opinions..
How much longer do you think this ombre hair fad will last..
and are there other hair trends coming into play that I'm just totally missing?
cause...I'd like to know bout 'em!

topic switch.

So my best friend, Benjamin? Yeah he's a cool kid.
Well, the fun thing is, he has an older brother who's also pretty cool.
And they make movies. They're on facebook and on youtube.
ohhh and they're hillarious.
{liking their facebook,
and watching their youtube videos wouldn't be a dumb thing to do}

Long story short they are starting a new season of shorts.
And the first episode comes out tonight!! {eeek!}
They're having a little launch party..
and if you happen to be in the Utah county area you should come!
We're going to be at the UVU library, you can email me for deets.

Come, it'll be a good time.

Want some cupcake with your lemon?

One time I liked to bake.
Things weren't always delicious, and definitely not always pretty.
but the love was there.

I get giddy when I see batter rise, becoming fluffy and light.
I wish for cupcake tins, sprinkles, and gel based food coloring.
I adore hearing of happy taste buds and satisfied tummy's.

What's better than baking a mouth watering cupcake? baking it with my dear sister in laws.

We made some great summer-y cupcakes yesterday.
They were lemonade cupcakes. Yeah, I know.

I saw some pink lemonade frosting in the cake aisle, and I was sold.
although I will openly admit
I have nooo idea what the difference between regular and pink lemonade is..
{hit me up if you have the answer}

Since Harmon's was out of Duncan Hines (my favorite box mix brand) lemon I went with Betty Crocker.
Pink lemonade frosting by pilsbury, and lemon head candies to top it off.
{so much lemon so little time..}

Nonly were they delicious, I think they turned out pretty cute too.
I looked for some paper umbrellas, but had no such luck, but they'd be a fun addition right?

These cupcakes we're superb. I highly reccomend it.
I'm also going to make you aware I plan on using the heck out of my "what's new cupcake?" book.
expect to see lots of summer cupcakes.
{if you have any summery cupcake ideas, tell me! I'm totally looking for inspiration!}

And as if baking cupcakes wasn't enough I also got to see my darling nephew.
He's the cutest baby. Ever.

I told you so...

Sorry about those things

Sorry I've been absent.
I spent this last memorial day in a lovely place called Lake Powell.
It's on the list of my favorite places to be.
check it out if you haven't.
I'll put up picture's soon!

Long story short my best friend makes grade A mix cd's.
he always seems to find songs that I don't know exist,
but as soon as they're notes touch my ear drum, my heart falls in love.

This song was on my most recent mix cd.
It is off of my newest favorite commercial.
this one.
it left me with a big smile saying "awwww"

"Porch Song"- The Meemies

this song is way too fun. although the music video is border line child slavery..so watch at your own risk.
ENJOY.

A Bust? Almost.

Today the D.I. was a bust. I was dissapointed.
I usually have no problem finding something wood like that I want to paint, or clothes that I want to refashion, or vintagey things I'd like to use a photo prop.
I almost gave up at least 4 times.
I looked and looked and found almost nothing worthy of my attention.
While I don't have picture's I found one small thing I wanted to call my own.
styrofoam balls.
While you can find these at 500 different stores..I got 6.. for 1.50$
{So i feel pretty cool}

There's a craft I've been saving in the back of my mind and now I can do it. :)
Pomanders.
they are the cutest. and will make cute decorations on my wall.

adorable huh? I'll show you what I come up with, when I come up with something :)

DIY: 1 minute doily bow

I like bows a lot. I sew them quite frequently. (ahem)
They're super easy. Especially this one.
I am not exaggerating when I say that this bow takes 1 minute to make.
And it's as cute as it is easy.

Materials: Doily, Ribbon, Bobby Pin.

 Start pinching you're doily between your fingers at one end and work your way across...

Until you reach the other side..it should look like this.

Take a scrap piece of ribbon and double knot it around your doily

 Add a bobby pin...

 Now you have yourself a fun lacey hair bow.

or you can stick in a safety pin and you'll have a faux bow tie. :)

I urge you to try
and don't forget to show me your variations :)
ENJOY!

and it's great.
I can't find it on youtube just on this link

put it in a jar.

Sometimes I just need to bake something scrumptious. Today was one of those times.
I really was just craving something super sweet that would also give me my craft fix.
I decided upon layer cake in mason jars.
I've seen it many a times via pinterest and have been too excited to finally try it.

chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, whip cream, cookie crumbs, caramel sauce, and sprinkles.

To package it up for a friend I put saran-wrap under the lid and twisted it on, then added a ribbon of crepe paper for a more "finished" look.

I highly reccomend making these. You're taste bud's wouldn't be mad at all.

p.s. if you have any questions on things I used? Don't hesitate to ask.
p.p.s. don't hesitate to follow me either. :)

Every party has one

A party pooper. and I'm not ashamed to say that it's usually me.
I adore sticking to the plan and loathe being sketchy and getting into messes.
I like following rules and having fun with in limits.
I attend my weekly ppa {party poopers anonymous} meeting

Needless to say I was a little upset about friday not being what I had planned it to be.
The best friend said "Hey let's go to a concert, it'll be a super fun time!"
I was hesitant.
Thinking it was time to put on sweats and curl up to the wonder years
{which I'm currently obsessed with by the way}

I'm quadruple glad I have a friend who isn't afraid to push me out of my comfort zone.
especially when it leads to me have a fabulous time.
(being front row doesn't hurt either)

I have a crush on The Mighty Sequoyah.
They're delightful. and fun. and great. and delightful.
look 'em up if you're unaware.

Yeah, those are signatures, whatcha gunna do about it.

Thrifty NIfty Wednesday: Suitcases please.

They're not practical. They are old and broken. But being a photographer they make great photo props.
Three vintage suitcases coming to the total of 14$. Me and Ben recently used them in a missionary photo shoot (fun huh?)

Here are some picture's to show you how lovely they (and carly) are!

(i know this one doesn't have suitcases, but its stunning right)

I'm thinking about getting some more and making a suitcase night like such
..either way they are just too fun!

Thrifty Nifty Wednesday: Mustard Please

So one time I went to the DI to look for some home decor type deals.
I found some way fun stuff.{like those cutesy hangers}
"K lets just go, I'm all done." said rachel naively, for she hadn't even looked at any skirts yet.
And if I've got any advice about the DI it's that 85% of the time they have great skirts.
Fortunately I changed my mind and found this beauty.
Mustard, Pencil, Pockets, Pleated, 6$, Sold.
Just call me Zac Efron, cause I feel pretty lucky.

p.s. I apologize for this grainy camera phone pictures.
